A Christmas Mooning

We had a great Christmas! Everyone was excited and grateful.

The snow kept on coming though.

Then today the rain came down...and the snow went away, Yay! (It should be a new Primary song.)

As I was trying to find pictures to post, I was surprised (but mostly, shocked) to find pictures of Karlie mooning the camera...NICE!! There's not just one but two!!

Here is an edited version. She's quite the kid!
As you might guess there's never a dull moment around here

All The Stockings Were Hung

Way back when I only had two children I made personalized stockings for them out of placemats. Since adding to the family, I had always wanted to make the additional ones. Finally, this year I accomplished it. They took maybe a whole 45 minutes to make. Karlie's has brown on the back and Kelsee's is red. I can't believe it took me so many years to get it done. It does feel good though!!

Superbowl Champ!!

Sorry, but please indulge me for just a moment as I bask in the glow (to bad it is not in the sun) of finally winning a Superbowl. Thanks Peyton Manning!!

CHAMPION!
Stormin Stallions won the Football 4 the Ladies ONLY Championship by a score of 97 to 89 over Trauma RNs ROCK. Peyton Manning led the team in scoring in the championship round and he also led the team in scoring for the season. Congrats once again to Stormin Stallions on a terrific Fantasy football Season.

A Christmas Tree

On Thursday, December 18th Kody and I braved the total ice roads and went to get a tree. It was so cold and snowing that we took the first one they showed us. We shoved it in the back of the van. Then carried it in and had to let it defrost for a day or two before we could decorate it. Life had been so crazy we just did not get the time to get one sooner. Due to the snow the kids have only had 1 1/2 days of school this week and it also cleared my calendar. So that was nice. Saturday morning Dennis put the lights on the tree and then that night Karlie and I decorated it. It's beginning to look like Christmas!

Christmas Past

Last year Kayla had a solo part in her Christmas program. It is so cute that I had to share it and plus it always make me smile.

Popcorn Recipe

Here is the recipe I have been promising. Sorry for the delay. I would of added a picture but when I returned home the bowl was empty. Watch out it is addicting!!
Enjoy and Thanks!!

White Chocolate Popcorn Mix
3 bags micowave Kettle Corn
(or butter flavored. I like to mix 2 kettle and 1 butter)
9 squares almond bark
(or 2 bags of white chocolate chips (12 oz)+ 3 Tbs. Vegetable oil)
2 cups small pretzels
2 cups mini marshmellows
2 cups Cheerios
1 cup M&M's
1 square milk chocolate

Mix popped corn, pretzels, marshmellows & Cheerios in 2 large bowls.Melt chocolate in micowave for 2 minutes stirring after one minute.Continue until melted. Pour over popcorn mix and stir until well coated. Pour onto wax paper or cookie sheets and sprinkle M&M's over the top so they can stick before it completely cools. Melt the milk chocolate in a small baggie, cut a hole in the corner and drizzle it over the top of the mix. Let cool and break apart a little.
Makes 2 big bowls.

You could use colored marshmellows, chex, almonds. I like to use the meltaway chips from Winco and just guess on how much and then if it needs more I can add to it.

I typed it up in a recipe card format with cute pictures and it would not let me add it. So if you want that copy let me know and I will email it to you. Thanks!!

I WIN! I WIN!

A few years ago a good friend talked me into playing fantasy football with her. It became an addiction. This year since we could not be part of the normal league she found us an online league. The only drawback is in the past when we played each other the loser has to take the winner to lunch. Well, Katie I am still waiting for you to come to Seattle!! The exciting news is this year is the first year I actually made it into the Superbowl!! I barely squeaked by with a 6 point win. Kody made it with a one point victory & my brother Bart also won. The message I got from him is that we are all "wieners" (family joke)! So wish me luck this week for the team I play is stacked and I have just been getting lucky breaks. I even called and ordered the NFL Network today... What is happening to me?? It is so fun though!!

The Snowman Tragedy

The snowman must have really had a bad night. This is what we found this morning. Kayla felt really bad. She said it looked like he had been stabbed. I explained to her that he had because she used the roasting sticks for his arms. She then screamed when she realized she had stabbed him!!

The girls spent a good share of the day outside sledding down the driveway. Even though it was so cold.
Because this weather is such a rare occasion they do not have any equipment to clean off the roads. With the rain, snow and then cold the roads were bad. So as my dad calls it we received a "church holiday". I had been wishing for a day when I had no where to go and I guess my wish was granted. I just have to say THANKS!!

Gotta love the cone head!!

LOVE THE SNOW!

The kids were so excited to see snow that even though it was dark they went out to play in it. they had so much fun making huge snowballs for a snowman and even starting a snowball fight with the neighbors behind us.

I left home at 9:oo am this morning and did not arrive back hom until 8:30 pm. It was a crazy day. I had meeting in Enumclaw and then Kody played in Auburn. It was an exciting game they won in overtime. So they are now 3-1.

It is a good thing today we found a coat that Kelsee actually likes!!

Santa & Snow

Tonight we attended the ward Christmas party. Just after it began it started to snow. All the kids played outside in the snow until Santa arrived. Then only staying inside long enough for a visit and picture with santa.

It was Karlie's first time to sit on Santa's lap all by herself. She did have the aide of a good friend standing close by (Thanks Katie).

The Candy Houses

Our neighbor gave us Candy House Kits for the kids to make.
In reality they were pure sugar. The kids had a great time. The results were interesting.

The hard part was trying to keep them together.

Karlie's lasted the longest, just over a minute.

Kelsee ate hers right after the first wall fell.

Kody's looked like an outhouse type structure. It barely made it through the picture.Kayla worked the hardest and then after seeing the results of the others, an earthquake suddenly hit hers.

A Couple Cute Christmas Photos

At the Stake Creche they took the cutest pictures of the kids. My only regret is Kody was not there. It would have made the best Christmas card photo. Kody had a basketball game at Capital in Olympia. Atleast they won.

A Performance for Grandma

Kayla had the opportunity to perform in the Stake Children's Choir for the annual Creche Exhibit this weekend. She even got to lead a song. It was really cute. Although, I did not get it all on tape, here is a piece of it just for Grandma, who was sad she could not attend. Enjoy Mom!
