Wow! It has been a year since I started this blog. I am totally amazed that I have actually kept it going and have been pretty much on top of things. It is weird, in fact, I really enjoy this thing called "blogging". It is safe to say I am probably addicted for I am actually considering starting a couple more.
This anniversary post was envisioned as being something fanastic, complete with incredible pictures. I should have realized my life does not work that way. So here is my disappointing story:
One gorgeous day, walking on the beach, great company, actually finding seashells, lots of great laughs and one camera with a dead battery.
Anyway, it was a great day. We spent the day with Dennis' brother Royce, his wife Heidi and my mother in law. So even though I have no pictures it was a fantastic day. We walked on the beach and to everyone's great surprise Kayla fell in (No surprise there). I found my first pieces of sea glass (at least I was excited) and we watched 3 cruise ship go by. Heidi made homemade ice cream which was so good and Royce taught the kids etiquette for getting people to wave at you.
1. Eye Contact
2. Smile
3. Wave
He has done a lot of theatre and so it was so funny to see his expressions. The kids got a big kick out of him. Their big prize was when 2 school buses drove by; they received lots of waves and someone even took a picture of our nice crazy crowd. (Luckily I was in the house at that time).
Such a fabulous day should have pictures.... Kody even commented on how I would not have any pictures to post on my blog. He knows me so well.
Today I found an article in a magazine it was called "5 Minutes to Happy" Go from blah to bliss in an instant. By Jennifer Matlack. I found it interesting that this was the first thing she said:
start a blog Like journaling, it gives you an outlet for your feelings. "But it may even better for triggering happiness because people can leave you positive comments."
I found this quite interesting. After my much disappointment, I must admit, I am feeling a little better after expressing my feelings. Ha Ha. Who am I kidding, I am still really bummed not to have any pictures for what I consider an anniversary posting.

My Little Rock Star
Karlie fell over when Kris Allen was named the American Idol last night. Kayla & Kelsee were really excited. Karlie was really bummed. But after watching all the performances today she has decided that she likes them both. She likes Adam better though because he does not have a mustache. She thinks the rock on sign is really cool since she saw Adam do it.
Check out the length of that tongue...
I Love this face!!

Track Update and Sweet Sister

Saturday was the final round of the sub-district track meet. Kody did well considering he was ranked last, his shoe came untied in the second lap (and whipped him in the shin for the following six laps) and it was the hottest day we have had here this Spring. He took 10th place out of sixteen runners. Awesome for being only a Freshman and racing against everyone older than him.

While we were waiting for the race to begin, Kelsee lost her flip flop down the only opening in the bleachers. Kayla was kind enough to climb a fence and go behind the bleachers to get it for her. Ohterwise it was considered a major tragedy. She did it all on her own and she had to find a way to get it. Not an easy task so it was a very sweet gesture on her part. Good job Kay!!

The Concert
Bubble is Burst!!
I just received a text (imagine that?) from Kody saying he made it to Sub-Districts in the 2 mile and is the 1st alternate in the mile. Now he can breathe a little easier, but will have to work harder. Looks like we now have plans for the weekend.

Being on the Bubble.

Since Kody has raced varsity all track season he was not able to attend the Freshman Championships on Saturday. He was bummed because all his friends got to go. He is now on the bubble of going any further this season. The next step is sub-districts. Now comes the hard part for him....the wait. As a Freshman he has done awesome so either way it has been a good track season.

The Mother's Tea
On Friday Kelsee's class had a Mother's Tea. It was really cute. Kelsee met me in the hall and ushered me into her classroom and into her seat. They had painted pots and had given us flowers in them. They also filled out a questionaire about their mom and I just have to share a few of Kelsee's answers. They are priceless: My mom is special because she never lies to me and she helps me.
I like it when my mom helps me with everything and when my mom makes stake.
My mom has a pretty smile! I like to make her smile by helping with the dog droppings and making her breakfast.
My mom can do many things! I think she is best at making the house clean.
So now I am thinking (and laughing) about what this really says about me. I spend alot of time cleaning up the house, the dog droppings (nice touch) and a big hint that I need to fix steak more often. Anyway I loved it all. She was darling serving me cupcakes and juice. They read poems and she even lead one of them (which is so out of her comfort zone.) It was a great time.

Roddy Makes the Podium
He raced in the Freshman/Sophmore Mile and
took 8th with his best time of 4:49. It was an actual mile not the 1600 which they usually run. The mile is longer so his time will not count towards the standings which is a bummer. He was an alternate to run in the 800 and was able to get into that race. It was raining so hard and he got soaked!
He took 5th in the Freshman/Sophmore heat and got to stand on the podium for the first time.. Only to be announced as "5th place from White River, RODDY Gould." Poor kid and of course with all the family there he has taken alot of teasing. Luckily it was only family that jumped on the Roddy bandwagan.
