A New Blog

I have been trying (well meaning) to start a recipe and other items blog for awhile now. I set it all up early this summer. My husband commented the other day on why I had so many pictures of food in our album. Since things have finally slowed down (only momentarily) and an inspiration from a friend and her darling blog; I have finally added my first recipe. You can check it out at One Crazy Cookie. My goal is to post regularly both new recipes and old family favorites along with a few other things. Please bear with me because it is still a work in progress.

TREASURED FAMILY MOMENTS

It was so fun having the family here with us for a few days. You would of thought having 13 people in one house it would have been total chaos. I have to admit it was crazy, but such a relaxed atmosphere. We did not have any conflicts and only one small battle between my sisters. Getting everyone ready in the mornings was our only challenge. We actually broke a Peterson record and made it to everything early (even church). It felt like we were on the go constantly...but we still had time to enjoy each others company. Why is it that time goes so fast when really you just want to treasure every moment. Luckily I have lots of moments to treasure and was sad to see everyone leave.

Peer Pressure

I have to admit I caved in to peer pressure. Kody did not want to run in the Bonney Lake Days fun run so Bart, Tayler, Kyle (my adopted brother or aka: Bart's best friend) and I agreed to run it with him. It was five miles... most of it uphill. I don't remember the last time I went five miles. I have been walking and wogging 2 to 2.5 and as the race started I begin to really wonder.....WHAT WAS I THINKING?.

The day before the race Bart and Kyle found running short for .97 each. The only problem was they were size XL . After a few safety pins they figured they were good to go, but the rest of us saw way more than we wanted.

Kody finished 10th overall and 3rd in his age group. Kyle took 21st, Bart 43rd. My goal was to not finish last. I took 68th, Tay 69th, she won her age class and won a medal. There were over 85 runners.

For no training I was really happy to just finish and actually be able to move afterwards. We had a great time. We laughed so hard before the race. Bart's stretch and warm up run will forever keep me laughing. It was also fun to to complete it with my little sister by my side. To bad we could not talk Candice into it also.. but her excuse is "she's 32".

THE YANKEE GAME

The Yankees are my dad's favorite team and he has never seen them play live, it worked out perfectly that they were in town this weekend.

Tickets were hard to come by. The cost goes up whenever the Yankees or Red Sox come to town.
I worked hard and managed to get find tickets to give to him on Father's Day.

There was 13 of us so we had to take 2 cars to the game. The rain poured and the traffic was bad. We got separated just before the turn and then just had to find eachother at the ball park. It was crazy.

Tay and I made a poster hoping we would get "Rally Fries". It said, " We had to pack this old Yankee guy...so we deserve some rally fries" It did not have quite the effect we planned because the old guy was my dad and he and mom ended up with the two tickets that were apart from the rest (and the better seats). We did not win the fries but they claim we made it on the big screen. Candice ended up buying some fries for Connor and we all ate them (atleast we all smelled of garlic).

The game was pretty lopsided...11-1 Yankees, but we had a great time. When it was over we all wished we could afford to go to more games together.

Happy Birthday Kelsee

Happy Birthday Kelsee. I can't believe my sweet little girl is now 8 years old.

Grandma, Grandpa and Tay came to visit and made it in time to go to dinner. She chose Olive Garden.
She got a new Hannah Montana CD and a new Webkins which Grandpa named Lewis.

We celebrated with cake the day when everyone else arrived... It is good to string out a birthday especially when turning eight.

Picking Blueberries

Today we went to pick blueberries at a blueberry farm.
It was hot but the bushes were loaded.

They taste really good!

Our finished project. Fifteen pounds of blueberries. Looks like we got a little carried away. I guess we will be trying out a lot of blueberry recipes.
