The Twins

The girls thought it would be fun to dress the same. They both even had ponytails and the same flip flops. It is funny because I have people ask me if they are twins.

Dad's Retirement Party

Luckily, I was in town to attend a retirement party for my dad put together by some of his former students and athletes. He taught for 40 years and coached various High School teams for 24 years. It was cool to see the people and the high respect held for my dad. He is a great guy.

He was my sixth grade teacher and was my favorite teacher in all my school years. My mom was nervous since I was the oldest but it turned out to be really good for all of us. All my family attended the event. It has been a really long time since we have all been together. We were just missing Dennis.

Visiting Friends

When I went to pick up the kids in Idaho (my sweet parents had them for over a week..first girls camp and then the trip to KC), we took a day and went to see a few friends in Pocatello. It was alot of fun. Kody was all over the place. His friend that moved to Utah just before we moved came to see him. Then the whole neighborhood gang got together for a batch of night games. Which Kody started. It was so great to see our good friends again after over a year. They made it still feel like home.


Thanks everyone who came to say Hi!! It meant alot. I wish I could of spent more time.

Our Anniversary

On our honeymoon we were headed to Seattle (a little ironic) and our car broke down. We ended up staying in this little dive motel, but atleast it was not the Bate's Motel that was across the street. That was a bit too creepy for me. So since we have made it 2o years we decided to take a little trip. Dennis really wanted to go to Kansas City to take in some church history sites. I was happy he actually came up with the idea so I went for it. We flew out on July 16. The bad thing was flying Southwest we did not even get to sit by eachother. It makes for a really long flight. We were hoping to find some good food when we got there but just ended up disappointed. The pathetic thing was the best food we had was in the Seattle airport and our free breakfast at the motel.

We visited Independence, Liberty Jail, Far West and Dennis's favorite Adam-Ondi-Ahman.

He suprised me and got us Royals tickets. We had awesome seats. It turned out to be Fireworks Friday. Then we spent atleast 45 minutes trying to find our car in the parking lot. New lesson: when parking in huge parking lots. Pay more attention to the details.

We then spent one whole day riding rollercoasters at "Worlds of Fun".

It was nice to get away and just spend time together. Now onward to the next 20 years.

The July 4th Hike

After Kody went out and totally cleaned the inside of his car we decided to pack a lunch and head up to Mount Rainier. Since we had never been that way we decided to take the Carbon River road. Not knowing that the road is closed so you get really close to Mount Rainier but cannot see it or walk to it. So we took what was supposed to be a .3 mile hike is a rainforest condition. The funny thing was the Forest Ranger had to make sure we knew that there would not be any monkeys on the trail....

Anyway, Kody went off the main trail and took us on a trail straight up a mountain. We hiked for 1 hour and decided that we better turn around before it got dark. Turns out we did not make it up even half way. No one complained or cried. Kayla was so cute. She fell and then jumped right up before I could say anything replied, "Kayla's ok". It only took us about 20 minutes to get down the mountain. Then we finished the short rain forest loop and went to a park to eat our lunch. Later that evening we joined the neighbors for the firework festivities. Kelsee even sat out with her friend. It was a first. Usually she hides. Tiko sat on my lap the whole time. The noise did not seem to even bug him.

Kody's New Ride

After much looking and time, Kody purchased his first car today. He got a 1997 Grand Am. It is in great shape and only has 120,000 miles on it.

Den and him washed it the minute they brought it home.

He is very excited! I am just relieved that I won't have to insure it for a couple more months. This purchase will free my taxi driver status a bit, or should I say alot. But I suppose it will just give me other worries.

So for now it sits in the garage waiting for the big day in September..
