Growing Up!!

This was a big day for Kayla.  First she was given an award for making the first semester Honor Roll.
Then later we made the trek to the Middle School that she will be attending in the fall.
She got all her shots and then we sat in a very crowded gym to hear all about 6th grade. Luckily, for her there was ice cream at the end.  Good thing she is all excited and I have the summer to get used to the idea of her growing up and moving up to the middle school!!

*While we were waiting in line for shots, Kody took 2nd in the mile and 1st in the 2 mile!!

Wet & Soggy!!

Saturday we got to travel to South Kitsap for a track invitational.  The weather man predicted a few minor showers.  Luckily, we were semi-prepared.  It did not rain......it poured all day long.  There were brief periods of a lighter pour but it rained hard pretty much all day long.
Poor Kody I think he ran the mile with each shoe weighing atleast a couple pounds more.
He did well, came close to a personal record and took 6th.
Then we spent the next hour in the car trying to dry out all of his clothing; including the stinky shoes!!
During the 2 mile the rain let up a little bit, but then it got cold fast.
He took 4th.
The  4x 400 Team. We stayed around because they were told that they made the podium.
Come to find out they missed it by one place...

The Home Meet

The last two regular track meets have been at home.  This week the coach had Kody run the 800, 1600. 3200 and a 4x400.  He normally only runs 2 maybe 3 events.  I was worried it was to much but he proved me wrong.  He took 4th in both the mile and 800.
Then came the 2 mile.
He led most of the race...
and went on to win it!!

Spring Break

Dennis was able to take a day and 1/2 off during Spring Break so we tried to get a few things in.  On Thursday Kody took the train with a group of friends into Seattle. (A little scary, but I handled myself well!!) The rest of us piled in the van and drove to Seattle (unknown to Kody).  We went to the Pacific Science Center (of course I forgot the camera) and then ate at the Spaghetti Factory.  It was a great time.  As we were leaving I got a call from Kody and they had missed the train and were riding a bus.  So we picked them up so they would not have to change buses.  All was well, Thank goodness!!
Friday we took Den's car to the shop and set out from there, without a real plan.
We ended up taking a ferry to Vashon Island.
We saw a little lighthouse.
Played on the beach.  It was windy and cold though!
They had fun skipping rocks.
Karlie liked looking for shells.  She is not scared of the water like the others were at her age.
Kody fishing....
 and Surfing???
Then we took the ferry to west Seattle.
It was a great relaxing day!!

Kody Runs Again!!

Just because it is Spring Break there is no rest for the "runners".  We traveled to Federal Way for an invite.  It was kind of cool because it was a night meet and they ran under the lights of the stadium and really cool, literally because it was cold!! The girls and I sat in the car as long as we dared and then we braved the chilly weather.   Kody ran the 2 mile.
He finished in 2nd place!
Eight laps is really long.  I catch myself losing track of how many laps are left during the race.
It was really fun to watch though!!
After the meet Kody and I were checking the results.  As we were searching I came across the results of the mile.  It said he took 4th in the Mile. The only problem is that he did not run the mile??
He now says it is true he can run the mile in his sleep in under five minutes!

Kelsee's New Hair

Kelsee decided that she wanted something a little different done with her hair.  This was shocking because she has been growing out her bangs for almost 2 years now.  So see if you can see the difference.
 Before
After:
She now has bangs and layers.
I love that we can actually see her face now.

Easter

I love Easter and General Conference so I was so excited to have my favorite things together this weekend.  I called the cable company to see if they would lower my bill and he stated that he could not lower it but I qualified for more channels and faster internet for the same price.  My reply was, "Will I get the BYU channel?" ( I don't think they hear that one often).  He said, "Yes" and I said go for it!  So getting to watch conference on my TV was the deal breaker and I have to say I LOVED every minute of it.  We even watched a few movies on that channel after conference was over.  I don't know if I will keep this package, for we still watch the same channels we did before.  Time will tell I guess..
The weekend was so relaxing and just good!! I actually had no where I had to be.  It was really nice.

The Easter Bunny had to leave the buckets on the table
because he was afraid this little dog might get into them!

Poor Kayla.  She was sick all night.
Kelsee hunting for eggs.
We had an incredible Easter.  Hopefully I instilled the true meaning in my kid's hearts.
