Last year at the Kent-Meridian Invitational it snowed!! Luckily this year it was dry and just a bit chilly! Kody ran the 2 mile and did awesome. He took 5th place and beat his personal record by 20 seconds. The four people in front of him were all seniors. It was really fun to watch. He was excited to finally get an invitational medal. What am I saying...I was totally excited for him!! Unfortuately, they did not do a ceremony so he received it at practice. Of course I could not get him to pose for a picture!

Happy Birthday Karlie!!
Karlie did not have school all week because of parent teacher conferences. I really enjoyed having her home! We had a good time together. The biggest thing is my baby is 6!! AKA: The Princess of Pink!!
The Princess and the Frog Movie and Zhu Zhu Pet.
I think she was a little disappointed it wasn't a Nintendo DS.
She loved it after playing it for a while.
Karlie was so excited that her good friend Lily came over to play.
The PINK cake!! She had to put the candles in all by herself.
It was a really busy day so we had to do things in stages. It made for a longer birthday though.
Happy Birthday My Pink Princess!!

Off and Running........
Well atleast Kody is. Track season has officially begun. The weather has turned nasty so that we all have freeze to death at the meets. I teased someone yesterday that the next one we would need to wear our snowsuits. People around here think I am really crazy when I talk like that. I bet there are very few who unless they ski own a snow suit. On to the topic at hand.
Kody is running really well. In today's meet he took 1st in the 2 mile and 2nd in the mile. Breaking his personal record in both events. He was pretty excited. He also ran the 3rd leg of a 4x400 relay team.
Now he is invited to run in an invitational on Saturday!!

Happy Birthday Kayla!!
What is this blue figure??
It is Kayla. I have no idea why she was all covered up..Quite the mystery. I honestly cannot believe she is 11! It feels like just yesterday she was that teeny tiny 3 pound baby. Now she is such a pretty young lady!!
She still has a facination with High School Musical. I believe it has something to do with Zack Efron...
She was so surprised to get her own Ipod.
She chose cupcakes instead of a cake. They were so delicious. We went to Outback for dinner the day before and then she chose to have hotdogs for her birthday dinner. Strange in my mind, but Den was really happy with that. It appears to be his favorite food lately!! It was a great day!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY SWEET KAYLA!!

Youth Formal 2010
The theme for this year's formal was "A Starry, Starry Night". We had around 200 youth from 4 different stakes attend. Priest and Laurels only (ages 16-18). This is my second year of being involved with it and have found that it takes LOTS of work, but oh so worth it. This year I had a little more interest because my son was old enough to attend. Kody had the camera so luckily a good friend shared pictures with me.
This was the entrance. It was so cool because you could see the stars through the doors outside.
Dinner was served for the first hour.
I love the black and blue on the white table cloth.
Before the lights were turned down.
These were covering the whole side of the gym. It was very sparkly!
The other side was a huge mural. You really believed you were at the park.
It was so incredible.
The stage before the sound equipment. There were two live bands that each played a few songs.
They were both made up of youth in the 16-18 year range. They were both awesome!
It was a fun addition to the night.
After dinner the boys cleared out the tables and chairs. A dessert bar was placed in the back for the youth during the dance.
In the back area was lights. It looked like stars in the night. We had quite the time getting this all up!!
Kody before the dance.
His date Katie. They went with a huge group, which was lots of fun!
The fellow boys from the ward and good friends Marcus & Mat
Pictures were taken at the dance. Some serious!
some silly
and some just plan cute.
My partners in crime! The rest of the Presidency and my wonderful friends! We were in charge of creating a powder room and decorating the bathrooms a bit. Too bad there are no pictures of it. The powder room turned out really nice!! I never had a chance to see if the girls really used it though.
We do know everyone enjoyed the mints! It was a great but late night.
Thanks goodness for lots of help from lots of incredible people!!
If you want to see some great pictures of last year's formal. You can check them out here.

The Newest Wheaties Box Design
Kody had to design a Wheaties box with a great American. Can you guess who helped him out??
I love the pun he added... George Washington, He's #1.
It turned out really cute!! I thought this project was for History. I was wrong it was for English!!
Now the class get to vote on the boxes..
Let the voting begin!
*Kody passed his college entry exam with flying colors. He will be at the college starting in the fall for the beginning of his Junior Year. He will spend his days at the college and then come back to the High School for sports and other activities. It is exciting!!

Miss VIP or AKA Pink Princess
Karlie was the VIP this week for Kindergarten. We had to create a poster (with a day's notice). She picked out the pictures. I am particularly glad for one hour photo!! It turned out cute!
She was in charge of taking care of the classroom "Huggy Bear". She fed him well and he went everywhere with us.
Even a visit to the eye doctor.
His eyes were perfect...unlike poor Kody!!
This morning we all (except Kody, who was taking a college entrance test!) got to go to Kindergarten. Karlie introduced us and explained the pictures on her poster. Then the kids got to ask her three questions.
1. Do you like to swim?
2. Do you like soccer?
3. Do you like Disneyland?
Gotta love Kindergarten. They are so random.
Then later she informed me that she is to be known as the "Pink Princess".

One Science Project Down...One To Go!!
After much work and craziness, we finally finished one science project. Luckily, Kayla had a great partner who pushed her along. They worked at our house every night after school last week. The science fair took place tonight at the school. (Talk about a crazy jam packed place!!) They did a great job!
Now I must get Kody going on his project for the deadline is approaching fast .................................
