Dress Up Thursday!

Kelsee decided that she was going to dress up today for no apparent reason and Karlie followed suit. They have been the cutest little friends lately.

It is so fun to watch them together.

Kelsee at six years old has decided that she can do her own hair. If I curl it she will go into the bathroom and wet it down. So I give up......

It was a week full of basketball. Kody and Kayla attended basketball camp at the same time in two different places. They had a great time and Kayla learned how to do "Lay Ins"!

We Thank Thee O God for a Prophet

This year I was able to attend Women's Conference at BYU in May with some wonderful friends. The final speaker was President Monson. We were so excited and spent over two hours sitting in one spot in the Marriot Center, in the nosebleed section, so we could see him walk in and face him directly when he spoke. Just as he began to walk in some ladies decided to crawl over top of us to get to their seats and I missed him walking in. I felt ripped off and that I had missed something....but I was wrong. The feeling was incredibly overwhelming and as twenty thousand women sang "We Thank Thee O God For a Prophet" the spirit was so strong, undeniably testifying that he is a true prophet of God. With the move I have been feeling like I am far away from Church Headquarters and the Prophet. Sunday as I sat in Primary with the Sunbeams, the Junior Primary sang that song and the exact same feelings I had a Women's Conference came flooding back. The feelings I felt were as if the Prophet was right there in that Primary room. It made me realize I am not far away.

Privacy.. Please?

When we moved in this house we were all excited to finally have more than one working bathroom in the house and to top it all off, with working locks on the doors. Little did we know that really means nothing. It took Karlie about a day to discover that she could use her fingernail to unlock the doors and enjoys surprising the unsuspecting users. She has even figured out that when her fingernails are short she can use other items to unlock the doors. Sometimes you will go to leave the bathroom only to find that you have been locked in from the outside. I guess that is the time when we should take advantage of the rare thing called privacy.

The Mighty Bug Catchers

One Sunday Kelsee and Karlie decided that they wanted jars to catch bugs. This totally amazed me because they do not like bugs one little bit. Karlie freaked out the other day because a little tiny bug was on the car window (outside). So I could not wait to see what this adventure would bring. Kelsee wanted to catch lady bugs and Karlie silver bugs (that is what she called them).

They got their jars and I did not hear anymore about it. The next morning this is what I found on the back deck:

An Incredible Sight!

We finally get to see Mount Rainier!!

It is amazing that something so large can hide so easily! This is the view coming up the hill into Bonney Lake. It looks so much closer in real life. The picture does not do it justice.

I could sit and look at it all day.

We registered the kids for school today. Kody will get a really good view of Rainier out the cafeteria window at White River High School. The counselor called it a million dollar view. The girls will go to Mountain Meadow Elementary.

Kody has been playing basketball with the high school since we first got here. (Thanks to Brother Dickson the YM President)! So our weekends are spent at tournaments, 2 days a week games in Auburn and practice the other nights. So between that and trying to unpack not much else has been happening.

Kelsee lost another tooth.

We are all gay!

Today in the grocery store they did not have the brand of mushrooms we like. My son replied, "That's gay". My four year old then asked what gay meant. With an aisle full of people I told her it meant happy. She then proceeded very loudly to say, " I am gay, Kody is gay, Kayla is gay, Kelsee is gay, Mom is gay. We are all gay and happy about it!" All we could do with all the stares is laugh and finally convince her to be gay, just not so loudly.

Finally Back On Line

We finally have internet, cable and phone service after 12 days of living here. The kids thought they were dying but played pretty well together. Especially Kelsee and Karlie who played Pizza Hut and decided that you have to have imagination to have fun. We missed the tomato scare and whatever else went on in the world during that time. It is funny how connected our lives are to the internet anymore. I just went through the checking account today (it took 2 hours). Something I could of done without the internet but I have this mental block I guess.

We are still moving in. It feels like the boxes are multiplying. Trying to find places for everything is really hard. I decided the whole moving ordeal is hard. I am so thankful for family and good friends who ignored my "I am all right" and took their precious time to help me and my family pack. What a huge ordeal!!! We could not have done it without them. I did have the opportunity to watch my husband load the piano into the truck by himself. Then he and I loaded the front load washer. He lifted and I pulled (which about killed me). He is now called HE Man!! My friend watched him pick up the couch, in the trailer, over his head and spin it around. She now agrees with me on his new name.

It was hard leaving what we had called home for 9 1/2 years. I really liked my house but loved the neighborhood and the friends that we had. I had never been out of Idaho. So far here in Washington it is so pretty and the people have been really nice. The cul-de-sac is quiet. The ward has been great. Other than the weather, a bit (a lot) more traffic, and lots of boxes left to unpack I have nothing to complain about. On a good note right now the sky is clear and the sun is out. It is beautiful! Tiko (our dog) has been laying on the rug in front of the door basking in the sun. He is finally over his depression mode. He seemed to take the move harder than anyone. Who would of figured?
