Friends

A group of wonderful ladies took me to lunch today as a last get together before I move. It really made me think about the importance of friends in my life. I am so grateful to have people to discuss problems with, talk about our children, get advice from, let frustrations out, dream and laugh with. Someone who understands you and knows the ups and downs that we go through as women. Having good friends as an adult is as important as when you are a child. My daughters ran the 1/2 mile in school today, the younger one beat the older one. (No surprise there). When I asked her why she did not run faster she explained that she ran with another girl who has asthma and she did not want to leave her by herself. That was nice and I don't need to say anything else to her on that subject, she was being a good friend. Our friends can influence us in all ways. Right now I am thankful for good friends who influence and help in doing good things. I am going to miss these friends dearly, but I will treasure them always.

Moving

After being in the same house for over nine years my husband's job is taking us from Pocatello, Idaho to Seattle! I have never been out of Idaho. My husband has been there since March and I have been trying to do the "single parent" thing (which I am not good at). The kids and I drove to Seattle a couple of weeks ago to spend time with my husband and find a house. I am not used to driving in any sort of traffic and on the freeway Kody wants me to get out of the inside lane. He tells me I need to learn to be more aggressive. I decided that I will probably live life in the slow lane when it comes to dealing with traffic and he will probably have to get used to it.
With just a week to go I finally started packing. I realized after a few boxes that I HATE packing and I told my husband I was done and just staying here. Finally after three days I have almost finished the pantry. I am glad that I have food storage but packing the big cans was not fun and seemed endless. I am so bad. I am already not looking forward to the unpacking....

The Mother's Day Gift!

On Mothers Day my sweet little four year old daughter sat on my lap and then jumped off. She then looked me in the eye and exclaimed, " I just farted on you and that's what you get from me for Mothers Day!" After the inital shock wore off all I could do was laugh. Where did she come up with that one? With the cost of gas lately I guess I should consider it an expensive gift... and one I will never forget.
