Youth Formal 2010

The theme for this year's formal was "A Starry, Starry Night".   We had around 200 youth from 4 different stakes attend.  Priest and Laurels only (ages 16-18).  This is my second year of being involved with it and have found that it takes LOTS of work, but oh so worth it.  This year I had a little more interest because my son was old enough to attend.  Kody had the camera so luckily a good friend shared pictures with me.
This was the entrance.   It was so cool because you could see the stars through the doors outside.

Dinner was served for the first hour.
I love the black and blue on the white table cloth.

Before the lights were turned down.

These were covering the whole side of the gym. It was very sparkly!
The other side was a huge mural.  You really believed you were at the park.
It was so incredible.
The stage before the sound equipment.  There were two live bands that each played a few songs.
They were both made up of youth in the 16-18 year range.  They were both awesome!
It was a fun addition to the night.
After dinner the boys cleared out the tables and chairs. A dessert bar was placed in the back for the youth during the dance.
In the back area was lights.  It looked like stars in the night.  We had quite the time getting this all up!!
Kody before the dance.
His date Katie.  They went with a huge group, which was lots of fun!
The fellow boys from the ward and  good friends Marcus & Mat
Pictures were taken at the dance. Some serious!
some silly
and some just plan cute.
My partners in crime!  The rest of the Presidency and my wonderful friends!  We were in charge of creating a powder room and decorating the bathrooms a bit.  Too bad there are no pictures of it.  The powder room turned out really nice!!  I never had a chance to see if the girls really used it though.
We do know everyone enjoyed the mints! It was a great but late night.
Thanks goodness for lots of help from lots of  incredible people!!
