The PreTeen Party....

For those of you who know me, you already know I am not a party person.  This year since Kayla turns twelve I let her talk me into one and it turned out really good!!  We served a sandwich bar, veggie trays and fruit.  The girls really enjoyed it. Kayla called it her RANDOM party, where she planned random stuff...
Making friendship bracelets.
Cake decorating contest.
and the favorite thing...Freeze dance with glow bracelets.
It was a great party and now maybe I won't be scared to throw another one....well we will see on that one!!
NOTE: At this moment I am still trying to talk Karlie out of one with bribery.....

Priest/Laurel Formal: You Otta Be in Pictures!!

Kody attended the incredible Formal put on by our Stake.  This is the first year that we have been here that I have not been involved in it and I must admit I was a little sad.  Kody had a great time.  The decorations were incredible and the food was good.  He went with a group of 12 and thanks to one of the parents who let them take their 12 seat van.
He looked so handsome!!  We had a string from his date's dress and who would of thought it would of been so hard to match.... We searched and searched until we finally found something to match.
Look he matched this cute date perfectly!!

Tiko wanted his picture taken..ha ha!!

The real date.
What a cute group!!

At the dance.
I am glad he had a great time!!

The Little Cheerleaders

Kelsee and Karlie attended the Cheer Clinic held at the high school.  Then during a basketball game they got to perform at half-time. The bad thing is that the pictures in the gym did not turn out well and the girls ended up on opposite sides of the gym.  So we saw Karlie's face and Kelsee's back.
and of course they LOVED it!!

The Piano Recital

Kayla has been lucky to be able to take piano lessons this year at school as her elective class.  She is doing so well!!  The teacher has her tutor others.  For the recital she played: Moonlight Sonata.  It was a tough song and she did awesome!!

Kelsee's Surprise

We received a card in the mail saying Kelsee would be getting an award at school.  Of course I tried to keep it from her.  She had no clue until....she walked in and saw us sitting at there for the assembly.  We just couldn't blend in.  It was cool anyhow.
She received the award for respectful attitude.
Way to go Kelsee..We are so proud of you!!

On to State

The State cross country meet is held in Pasco, Washington, which is about 4 hours from home.  Luckily, the school let us have one of their reserved rooms so we did not have to make the trip in one day.  We arrived to see this:
I wonder which room Kody is in??? We did see him for about 30 seconds that night..
We had lots of time to kill before his race... The girls enjoyed the leaves.
and the dead tree branches.
Eventually, Kody's race began.

Kody and Marcus stayed together most of the race, pushing each other.

Kody went on to take 27th out of 170 runners (which is amazing.) but collapsed at the end. The coach broke through the barriers to get to him.  Then Dennis held him up and he leaned on me for awhile. We then tried to get him to go to the medic tent, he refused and staggered off.  He had nothing left to give.  The coaches helped him back to the tent.  He worried me.  Finally after about fifteen minutes, he was joking and more like himself.  It was a bit scary though.  We figure somehow we are not doing something right and that is why he does not have any energy leftat the end of the race. My plan is to get it figured out because I can't stand to see him like that anymore.
He had an amazing season, winning every regular meet, breaking the school course record, being named MVP of the Team and Male Athlete of the Year for the League (voted by all the coaches.).
He gives it his whole heart and soul.  He is my HERO!!
