Valentine Parties and Quite a Week!!

I spent a good share of the day Thursday at the school.  Kayla was captain of her team for the Geography Bowl.  She was sad when her team lost by only 4 points.  They did really well!!

Kayla and I found a really good sale on clothing so we picked her up a few new things.  I asked her to go and hang them up in her closet.  I opened her closet today to find: The plastic bag with the clothes still in it hung over a hanger in her closet.  OHHH I had to step back....OK she did just what I asked her to do (kindof??).  I just had to laugh!!

I went to Karlie's class party.  This week while in line at the grocery story she GRILLED me about Santa, the Easter Bunny and then the Tooth Fairy.  She asked some pretty interesting and well thought out questions. After what felt like forever and I did not know what more to say she looked at me and in the sweetest voice said, "I believe in them all!" I did not dare turn around at all because I could hear the lady behind us laughing the whole time.
I served the ice cream and manned the toppings for Kelsee's class party.
She wrote a story titled: Little Blue Riding Hood
It is so cute!!  Little Blue Riding Hood's hair "was as crazy as a monkey throwing a banana peel at you!"
She walked through the rain forest with a talking frog who jumped on her shoulder and then was chased to her aunt's house by a tiger.  The tiger broke down the door.  Little Blue Riding Hood ran into the bathroom because her aunt was in there and locked the door.  "The tiger began to scratch at the bathroom door.  He broke into the bathroom.  When the tiger saw her, he ran as fast as the wind home because her aunt was going to the bathroom."  I thought it was pretty clever and it gave me a good laugh!!

Sigh. I miss spending time at school with my girls. It looks like you had a lot of fun. The Geography Bowl looks like an especially good time.

This story is so cute. I especially liked the closet story. I had one of those children that would literally do what I said. I finally learned that I needed to give her better directions.

That's one of the things I miss most are the class parties!

Oh, and snacks - I'll never forget when my daughter was in kindergarten, I got a list for snacks to make that said "sweet, meat, cheese." For some odd reason I thought I had to use them all!

So I bought sourdough pretzels, wrapped them in bologna, wrapped a piece of American cheese around that and then used red licorice to tie up all the "packages." It took me forever!

Imagine my surprise when the teacher said I only had to pick one category!!

The kids loved them though!
